An digital invitation to no. 43 Putney Road

Some of you may know me because I sing together with our choir children on Sunday mornings during service, and that sometimes I even bring my guitar with too. What most of you probably do not know is that I am actually a website designer by trade. Last year I wrote my very first publication for the Angelos entitled “An invitation to no. 43 Putney Road” in which I enthused over my discovery of this treasure of church. In my article I talked about the many things about Brixton church that have totally stolen my heart. I also made mention of some of the exciting new developments happening at Brixton Church too, namely for this article; the powerful new church website.

The Church Council members, Father Hennie van Rooyen, and I, are so proud and pleased to invite you to come and visit our website. This project has been more than a year in the making and I am so blessed to present this tool the community as an ongoing gift. Our long-standing members of the church will find useful and relevant information there, and new people can get to know us online too.

This Passion Project is my way of showing my utmost and steadfast faith in the good works of Father Hennie van Rooyen, and his dedicated team of Ministry leaders. I do believe in this church, and I do believe in these good people. My sincerest wish is that Brixton church and its leadership be successful and blessed in their desire to serve. I pray with all my heart that they receive all the help they could possibly ask for.

So, without any further ado, please permit me to share with you some of the features I’ve built into the site:

· The site is and will remain an up-to-date repository of church news featuring our calendar dates for all of our events and special church functions.

· Contact information is readily available for our many ministries leaders and info about the ministries where they have chosen to serve.

· Selected articles from the publication of the Angelos are now available to read online in our ‘Letters’ section. The wonderful thing about this is that we and can easily share these articles with our friends via Facebook directly from the site.

· The church is now easy to find with our embedded Google maps for easy directions for new people.

· We have clearly described how one can get involved in the church either by donating money, volunteering your time, or helping to stock our food cupboard.

· The website is bilingual offering either English or Afrikaans language options.

· And finally the site itself is something I am personally very proud of, and I look forward to seeing this project grow even further.

All my love,

Kai-Anne
